A Morkie is a cross between a Maltese and a Yorkshire Terrier.

The Morkie has a wonderful temperament. They love to play but are also wonderful lap dogs that love to cuddle all day. The temperament differs, individually, ranging from calm and soft to active and nervous, all, however, with a remarkable intelligence. The Morkie is very affectionate and loyal. Morkies will fare quite well with other house pets and other dog breeds. The Morkie loves attention. The Morkie is great with kids as well as our other small or large dogs. The Morkie makes a wonderful companion dog. This hybrid dog is known to be sweet and a pleasure as a family pet. Morkies are known to bond closely with their family members. Morkies are nonshed. Coat color and type will vary depending on which parent they take from. The Morkie is fairly easy to train compared to our other breeds. Morkies are known to be very obedient, but can also be stubborn at times. The Morkie cross breed is known to live a long and happy life, with a life span of 12-15 years. Since the Morkie is not a purebred, the breed does not have the risk of suffering from the common genetic diseases and issues that a few of the purebred breeds can suffer from.

The average lifespan of a Morkie is 12-15 years.
